Patient summary
Indicated to support the reduction of triglycerides, developed to manage dyslipidaemia effectively.
Mechanism of action
Gemfibrozil activates the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-alpha (PPAR-alpha). This activation promotes the breakdown of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins and decreases the production of very-low-density lipoproteins (VLDL), thereby lowering serum triglyceride levels.
Lopid
Indicated to support the reduction of triglycerides, developed to manage dyslipidaemia effectively.
