Patient summary
Indicated to mitigate high blood pressure, formulated to support renal protection in diabetic patients and target angiotensin receptor pathways.
Mechanism of action
It selectively antagonises the angiotensin II receptor. This prevents the hormone angiotensin II from binding to its receptors, which leads to vasodilation and reduced secretion of aldosterone, effectively lowering blood pressure.
