Mechanism of action
Verapamil selectively blocks transmembrane calcium currents in myocardial and vascular smooth muscle cells. This activity results in vasodilation, reduction of cardiac workload, and slowing of electrical conduction through the atrioventricular node.

Pregnancy: Use only if strictly necessary. Breastfeeding: Small amounts excreted; monitor infant.
