Mechanism of action
Verapamil inhibits the influx of calcium ions into cardiac and vascular smooth muscle cells. This activity suppresses myocardial contractility and relaxes arterial smooth muscle, reducing blood pressure and myocardial oxygen demand.

Pregnancy: Not recommended. Breastfeeding: Use with caution as it is excreted in breast milk.
