Mechanism of action
Tizanidine acts centrally on the spinal cord as an alpha-2 adrenergic agonist. By increasing presynaptic inhibition of motor neurons, it reduces muscle tone and spasms without affecting muscle strength, effectively relaxing skeletal muscles.
