Mechanism of action
Alfuzosin is a selective antagonist of post-synaptic alpha-1 adrenoceptors located in the prostate, bladder base, and urethra. Relaxation of these smooth muscles reduces urethral pressure and resistance, improving urine flow and bladder emptying.
