Patient summary

Formulated to address bacterial infection to alleviate symptoms and support recovery from infections.

Mechanism of action

Cefadroxil is a bactericidal antibiotic that acts by interfering with bacterial cell wall synthesis. It binds to essential penicillin-binding proteins, preventing the cross-linking of peptidoglycan chains, which leads to cell lysis and death of the susceptible bacteria.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Pregnancy: Use only if clearly needed. Breastfeeding: Use with caution as cefadroxil is excreted in breast milk.
