Mechanism of action
Colchicine interferes with the function of microtubules in white blood cells. By inhibiting neutrophil migration and activation at the site of inflammation, it reduces the inflammatory response associated with gout crystals.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Pregnancy: Not recommended unless clearly necessary. Breastfeeding: Use with caution as it is distributed into breast milk.
